Dr. Gaurav Goel is Senior Director and Head of Neurointervention Surgery at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurgaon, one of India’s leading tertiary care hospitals. A distinguished neurointervention specialist, he holds a Fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology from the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University, Canada, and a D.M. in Neuroradiology from NIMHANS, Bangalore. His earlier medical training includes an M.D. in Radiology and an M.B.B.S. from SMS Medical College, Jaipur.

With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Goel has been instrumental in establishing Medanta’s neurointervention program as one of the country’s foremost centers for stroke and aneurysm treatment. His clinical expertise spans brain aneurysm coiling, stroke thrombectomy, AVM embolization, and spine interventions. Under his leadership, Medanta’s Neurointervention Unit treats more than 1,000 patients annually, performing over 250 complex procedures, with a special focus on flow diverter technology—an area in which he serves as a global proctor across Southeast Asia, Australia, and the United States.

Dr. Goel has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, including Neurology, Neurol India, and the Journal of Neurointerventional Surgery. He has been a faculty speaker at major international conferences such as WLNC, LINNC, and ESMINT, and organized large-scale academic meetings like NICE LIVE
